前情提要：
住在以色列kibbutz的一年當中，我不僅認識了各國來的志工，也和很多住在kibbutz的人成為朋友，有可以一起party的年輕人，有只能比手畫腳溝通的小孩，也有年長的爺爺奶奶，他們讓我在kibbutz的生活豐富許多。
巧克力與頭巾奶奶
住棚節（Sukkot）的某天下午，我和室友Juliana站在小商店的自動門前，看到告示才發現我們來晚了，節日期間小商店都提早打烊。
一位看起來約八十歲的奶奶剛好經過，與我們小聊兩句後，決定帶我們回家，看看她家裡有沒有我們需要的東西。其實，我們沒有要買什麼必需品，就是Juliana想吃些甜食而已。
奶奶的家在餐廳旁邊那排房子的其中一間，家裡佈置的很溫馨，充滿了生活氣息，且擺放著許多奶奶的孩子和孫子的照片。我們四處欣賞的同時，奶奶在廚房的櫃子裡翻來翻去，最後，她拿出兩板巧克力，堅持要給我們帶回去吃，希望能讓我們解解饞。
自此之後，我和這位奶奶就成了遇見時會打招呼、聊幾句的朋友，她非常的友善、和藹，每天都笑容滿面，且整個人散發著優雅的氣質。不過，我其實不知道奶奶叫什麼名字，每次都直接稱她為”savta (סבתא) “，也就是希伯來文的奶奶。
私底下，我和Juliana給她取的代號是：「頭巾奶奶」，因為她的頭上總是圍著頭巾，有點像那些傳統的猶太女人，不過她有自己的綁法，每天不同的衣服還會搭配不同的頭巾。
她曾經是天主教徒？
光明節時，餐廳一樓擺放著光明節燈臺比賽的作品，其中老年組做的燈臺大概是最有趣的，上面貼滿了老舊的黑白照片。

我正欣賞時，頭巾奶奶走了過來，指著其中一張照片說：「這個是我！在波蘭的時候，某次望彌撒之後拍的。」
照片裡是一個十歲左右的小女孩，深邃的大眼、捲曲且澎鬆的中長髮，頭上繫著一個蝴蝶結，身穿復古的洋裝，手裡拿著一支蠟燭。我完全看不出來這個小女孩就是頭巾奶奶，不過，真正令我感到奇怪的是，頭巾奶奶是猶太人，她小時候怎麼會去參加天主教的彌撒呢？
頭巾奶奶說：
「我出生在波蘭，在那裡長大。當納粹佔領波蘭，並開始迫害波蘭的猶太人時，我的父母把我送到他們非猶太人的朋友家裡去住，那時我只有八歲。
我與那家人一起生活，假裝自己是他們的小孩，我的『假爸媽』很照顧我，『假兄弟姊妹』也都和我玩在一起。每個禮拜，我和他們一起去望彌撒，讀天主教的聖經、背祈禱文、唱聖歌，『假爸媽』很努力地教我成為一個天主教徒，這樣當納粹來查的時候，才不會發現我是個猶太人，才不會把我抓走。
我被迫忘記自己是猶太人，忘記所有在父母家的生活習慣、猶太傳統。時間久了後，我真的打從心底認為自己是個天主教徒，而且以為就要這樣過一輩子，沒想到有一天我能恢復自己真實的身份。
就這樣，我在這個家庭住了四、五年吧，直到二次大戰結束才離開。」
我看過非常多猶太大屠殺的故事，關於集中營的生活、關於猶太人怎樣到處躲藏、關於非猶太人不顧性命去救猶太人的英勇事蹟。我有點不敢相信，現在，一個活生生的猶太大屠殺倖存者就站在我面前。
後來我才知道，這個kibbutz裡有很多爺爺奶奶都是大屠殺倖存者，而且是真的住過集中營的倖存者，我每天見到他們，卻不知道他們背後有著精彩的故事，大概因為這段經歷太可怕了，沒有人會提起。
再相見
又是幾個月過去了⋯⋯
這天，在印刷廠裡，我完成了一個很怪的訂單，那是一本只有幾頁的小冊子，而且只需要六份。有趣的是，頭巾奶奶是訂購人，她來拿小冊子時和我閒聊了一番，我也才知道了後續的故事。
二次大戰結束後，頭巾奶奶家破人亡，親生父母和兩個妹妹都沒有活下來，整個家族只剩一位遠房的阿姨。在阿姨家寄居了一段時間後，十五歲的頭巾奶奶就自己移民到以色列了。
之後，頭巾奶奶有找回當時收留她、救了她一命的這個家庭，並且回波蘭去探望他們。如今，幾十年過去，「假爸爸」和「假媽媽」都已經離世了，不過頭巾奶奶仍然和她的「假兄弟姊妹」保持聯絡。
這本小冊子裡，用希伯來文和波蘭文寫著頭巾奶奶和這個家庭住在一起時的故事，旁邊配上發黃的黑白照片，還有後來他們再相見時的留影。
兩個星期後，假兄弟姊妹和他們的家庭將要從波蘭來以色列拜訪頭巾奶奶，所以她特別做了這些小冊子，要送給假兄弟姊妹的兒女和孫子，這樣一來，這段感人的歷史才會被繼續傳講下去。
這大概是第一次，我突然感覺到自己的工作很有意義。

沒有德國、奧地利志工的規定
Kibbutz的志工來自世界各地，以歐洲和拉丁美洲佔多數，但這裡卻鮮少出現德國人和奧地利人。
這個kibbutz的建立者都是來自歐洲的猶太人，他們不是身為倖存者，就是有親人死於猶太大屠殺中，對這些老一輩的會員來說，德國和奧地利是他們的痛處，因此從一開始就講明了不接受德國和奧地利來的志工，除非是猶太人。
這個規定看似有點過於激烈，好幾次當志工們討論到這件事時，都會有人這樣說：大屠殺都已經過了幾十年，這麼久以前的事，也該放下仇恨了吧！他們真的太小心眼了。
說得倒是很簡單！
事實上，我們沒有一個人經歷過那樣可怕的事，大家都生活在優渥平靜的環境，怎麼可能體會那種命在旦夕的窘迫，和失去所有家人的痛苦。
身為年輕人，我們實在不應該批評那些長者們所做的決定。
